Meeting of the Foreign Minister with the UN Under Secretary-General, Executive Director of the UNODC

On 29 November 2021, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Mr. Sirojiddin Muhriddin received the UN Under Secretary-General, Executive Director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) Ms. Ghada Waly, who is on a working visit in our country.

The issues of bilateral cooperation within the framework of programs and projects of UNODC in the field of preventing and combating drug trafficking and crimes were discussed.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs expressed satisfaction with the level of cooperation of relevant authorities of the Republic of Tajikistan with the UNODC on countering security challenges and threats, including international terrorism and extremism, organized and cyber-crimes, illicit drug trafficking and trafficking in persons, and emphasized the role of the United Nations Organization and its specialized agencies in eliminating of named negative phenomenon, inter alia through the provision of technical assistance.
