On May 6, 2015 the leading Egyptian newspaper "Al-Ahram" on its website published an article by its correspondent Tariq El-Senutititled "Tajikistan will host International Water Conference next month with the participation of Egypt." This article, referring to the Ambassador of our country in Cairo Khusrav Noziri, notes that the capital of Tajikistan – Dushanbe on 9-10 June 2015 will host a High Level International Conference on the Implementation of the International Decade for Action "Water for Life", 2005-2015.
The article emphasizes that the Conference will promote the awareness of the international community about trends in the water sector, mobilizing efforts of governments, UN institutions, international and non-governmental organizations, as well as other stakeholders involved at all levels in the solution of water problems.
It is expected that the Conference will be attended by the representatives of the UN member states, UN institutions, international and regional organizations, international financial institutions, the business community, non-governmental organizations, civil society, as well as scientists and experts. The official invitation to participate in the Conference has been also sent to the Government of ARE.
In order to develop a comprehensive programme of the Conference with the participation of all types of water users and decision-makers, an International Steering Committee was established among the representatives of partner countries, international and regional institutions, river basin organizations, NGOs, the private sector and other stakeholders.
The primary objective of the Conference is a comprehensive discussion of the issues of implementation of the International Decade for Action “Water for Life”, 2005-2015, which will later play a crucial role in conducting a comprehensive review of the implementation of the International Decade by raising the awareness of the wider international community about its results.
It is worth noting that earlier another Egyptian newspaper "Al-Jumhuriyah" and a number of news agencies, in particular the Middle East News Agency (MENA), "Al-Youm Al-Sabi '," "Al-Shuruk", "Al- Misri al-Youm ","Al-Balad ","Al-Tahrir "," Al-Bawwaba "," Akhbarak " and etc. also published materials dedicated to the Dushanbe Water Conference.
