Event entitled "Snow leopard - a symbol of the purity of nature" in Berlin

On September 24, 2021 the Embassy of Tajikistan to Berlin jointly with the Nature and Biodiversity Conservation Union, hold an event entitled "Snow leopard - a symbol of the purity of nature" for the scientific and information communities of the host country.

As it is known, these days the 76th session of the UN General Assembly is being held in New York, where issues of capacity building in the fight against the pandemic, sustainable economic recovery and meeting the needs of the planet are being discussed. Along with important security issues, climate change and its consequences is one of the topical issues of meetings of international conferences. In a video message, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sirojidin Mukhriddin called on the world community to take more initiatives in the fight against climate change, which is especially evident in Central Asia in the form of floods or continuing drought, unprecedented cold snaps, unbearable heat and melting glaciers. Emomali Rahmon called the announcement of 2025 the International Year for Preservation of Glaciers a timely decision in this direction and called on countries to support this initiative.

In his speech, the Ambassador of Tajikistan to Germany Sohibnazar Gayratsho, explaining the message of the President, told the participants about the consequences of climate change, the rural development, tourism and folk crafts in the country and stated that cooperation between Tajikistan and Germany in the protection of rare species of animals is a vivid example in this area. The Ambassador called on the President of the Nature and Biodiversity Conservation Union and other relevant circles to assist Tajikistan in preventing the consequences of climate change, as well as in introducing Tajikistan as a country with clean nature and potential for ecological tourism.

The Nature and Biodiversity Conservation Union has been cooperating with the relevant agencies of Tajikistan in the field of nature protection for many years. Hundreds of young German citizens visited the exhibition, organized in the building of the Embassy and got acquainted with the tourism opportunities of Tajikistan and the challenges that the country faces.
