Meeting of the Joint Tajik-Turkmen Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation

On November 1, 2019, the Ninth meeting of the Joint Tajik-Turkmen Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation was held in Ashgabat. The delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan was headed by the Minister of Energy and Water Resources of the Republic of Tajikistan Usmonzoda Usmonali.

The parties noted the friendly nature of good neighborly relations between the countries. It was emphasized that the main factor in the further development of cooperation is the political dialogue established at the highest state level.

At the meeting, the parties discussed issues of bilateral cooperation and prospects for the further development of the whole range of relations between the two countries and noted the implementation of most of the decisions of the previous meeting.

Following the meeting, a protocol was signed which reflected the parties’ aspirations to further strengthen trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian relations, as well as the development of cooperation between the two countries in the rational use of transport and transit potential, and the expansion of communication capabilities of the two countries.

The meeting was traditionally held in the spirit of friendship and good neighborliness.
