Celebrating Navruz in France

On March 19, 2019, at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris, embassies of the countries of Navruz area (Tajikistan, Afghanistan, Iran, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, India, Iraq, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Uzbekistan and Pakistan) held an official reception on the occasion of the celebration of International Navruz holiday.

 The Director-General of UNESCO Audrey Azoulay, representatives of French ministries, the diplomatic corps, business groups, scientific and cultural circles, as well as the Tajik diaspora living in France were invited to the celebration. Guests had the opportunity to taste the popular festive cuisine of Navruz countries and learn more about the traditions of Navruz in each state.

The Embassy of Tajikistan designed a traditional national holiday table decorated with Haftsin and Haftshin. The Embassy also showcased books and brochures about Tajikistan.
