Meeting of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan with the Deputy US Secretary of State

On March 12, 2014 the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Sirodjidin Aslov met with the Deputy Secretary of State William Burns at the State Department of the United States.

During the meeting the sides discussed the current state of bilateral cooperation in security, military, political spheres, as well as expanding partner relations, further US assistance in the strengthening of the southern borders and capacity building of law enforcement agencies in Tajikistan in 2014 and subsequent years.

The sides also exchanged views on regional projects, including important infrastructure, communication, water and energy projects and significance of these projects in the socio-economic development of the region.
