Meeting of the Foreign Minister with the Assistant US Secretary of State

On March 12, 2014 the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Sirodjidin Aslov met with the Assistant Secretary of State Nisha Biswal at the State Department of the United States.

During the meeting the Foreign Minister S. Aslov noted that Tajikistan as a country, implementing the «open doors» policy had friendly relations and mutually beneficial cooperation with countries of the world.

The parties discussed agenda of bilateral political consultations, which would be held in April this year in Dushanbe.
The meeting also stressed on the need to expand bilateral ties in agriculture, energy and communication sectors, providing food security and strengthening border cooperation.

The sides exchanged views on concerting joint actions to strengthen peace and stability, as well as to promote economic revival in Afghanistan.
