Meetings of the Foreign Minister in the UN

On March 10, 2014 in the margins of participation at the UN special event on “Taking Stock of the International Year of Water Cooperation and Advancing the Global Water Agenda after Post-2015” Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Sirojidin Aslov had a meeting with the UN Under Secretary-General for Economic and Social Affairs Wu Hongbo.

During the meeting the sides discussed issues related to cooperation between Tajikistan and the United Nations in the field of sustainable development and achieving the Millennium Development Goals.

Later, on March 10 the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan met with the UN Under Secretary-General for Political Affairs Jeffrey Feltman. During the meeting the sides discussed issues related to the security in Central Asia, situation in Afghanistan after the withdrawal of ISAF in 2014, strengthening regional cooperation.

On the same day, the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Tajikistan to the United Nations has officially launched the new version of the Mission website with participation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs. The new website is available at: www.tajikistan-un.org
