Presentation of the “Cylinder of Cyrus the Great” at the OSCE

On April 28, 2026, in Vienna, the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Tajikistan to the OSCE presented the “Cylinder of Cyrus the Great” within the framework of the meeting of the OSCE Human Dimension Committee.

During the presentation, it was emphasized that, upon the initiative of the Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon and with the support of partners, UNESCO during its 43rd General Conference officially recognized the “Cylinder of Cyrus the Great” as one of the earliest declarations of human rights. In this regard, it was noted that the implementation of another global initiative of Tajikistan the “International Year of Legal Literacy – 2027” will significantly contribute to the full realisation of human rights and the strengthening of the rule of law at both national and international levels.
