Briefing on the Preparatory Process for the High-Level International Conference

On March 18, 2026, a briefing was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affair of the Republic of Tajikistan with participation of the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, Head of the Secretariat of the 4th High-Level International Conference on the International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development” 2018–2028 Sanoi Boyzoda. 

During the event, it was noted that the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan continues active preparations for the Conference, which will be held on 25–28 May, 2026, in Dushanbe.

It was noted that the purpose of this Conference is to strengthen cooperation, create favorable conditions for implementing concrete actions to address global water-related challenges, and support the achievement of water-related Sustainable Development Goals and the International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development.” The Conference also serves as a key event in the lead-up to the 2026 UN Water Conference and as a platform for informal consultations and discussions with stakeholders regarding the 2028 UN Water Conference to be held in Tajikistan.

In this regard, the participants were provided with detailed information on the Conference programme, including thematic sessions, special panels, forums, as well as international exhibition, side and cultural events.

Registration of Conference participants began on March 5, 2026.
