Bilateral relations of Tajikistan with Spain

Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Tajikistan and Kingdom of Spain were established on August 4th 1992.

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Spain to the Republic of Tajikistan is David Carriedo (with residence in Nur-Sultan) (since 20 November 2018).

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tajikistan to the Kingdom of Spain is Jamshed Khamidov (with residence in Geneve, Switzerland) (since 5April 2018).

The bilateral cooperation between two countries is developing.In 2007 during the Chairmanship of Spain in OSCE the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Spain Migel Angel Moratinos paid a visit to Tajikistan and met with the President of the country and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan.

On July 18th, 2010 the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Spain Migel Moratinos visited Tajikistan and met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Hamrokhon Zarifi. As the result of the meeting the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Spain was signed.  

The economic cooperation between two countries is developing. The amount of bilateral trade turnover between the Republic of Tajikistan and Spain for 2018 the total amount reached 5464,7 thousand USD (only import).
