Statement of countries and international and regional organisations on the signing of important historical documents between Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan

Organization of Islamic Cooperation

“The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) welcomed the signing by Their Excellencies President Emomali Rahmon of Tajikistan, President Sadyr Japarov of Kyrgyzstan, and President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan of a treaty delimitating the tripartite border point among their countries and the Khujand Declaration of perpetual friendship at a summit of the three presidents in Khujand, Tajikistan, on Monday 31 March 2025.

The OIC Secretary-General, Mr. Hissein Brahim Taha, offered his congratulations to the three countries, their presidents, and their people for this historic achievement which culminates the delimitation of the borders between the three countries and the negotiations to settle the more than three-decades-long border disputes and gives a new momentum to the strategic relations among the three countries.

Against the backdrop of the OIC’s commitment to strengthening the bonds of brotherhood, harmony, and cooperation among its Member States, the OIC Secretary-General looks forward to this significant achievement among these sisterly countries contributing to reinforcing the foundations of security, stability, and economic cooperation among the countries of the region.”

 

Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC)

“His Excellency Mr. Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), welcomed the Khujand Declaration on enhancing the paths of eternal friendship between the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Tajikistan, and the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as the treaty to define the point of contact at the international borders among the three countries, which was signed on Monday, March 31, 2025, in the city of Khujand, Republic of Tajikistan.

He also expressed his hope that defining the common border meeting point would be a historic turning point in closing the chapter on border disputes and a starting point for building strategic relations that achieve security and stability, enhancing aspects of prosperity and development, as well as bringing benefits to their peoples”.

 

 

Russian Federation

“The Russian Federation welcomes the signing of the Treaty between the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan on the Junction Point of the state borders of the three countries and the Khujand Declaration on Eternal Friendship during the meeting of the Presidents of Kyrgyzstan S.N. Japarov, Tajikistan E.Sh. Rahmon and Uzbekistan Sh.M. Mirziyoyev held in Khujand on March 31.

Russia supports these decisions aimed at strengthening friendly relations and expanding mutually beneficial cooperation between our closest allies. The recorded agreements will give new impetus to the development of good-neighborliness and partnership between the three states, will contribute to ensuring stability and security in the Central Asian region as a whole”.

 

Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expresses the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s welcoming of the trilateral treaty between the Republic of Tajikistan, the Kyrgyz Republic, and the Republic of Uzbekistan on defining the Border Junction and the signing of the Khujand Declaration on Eternal Friendship among the three countries.
The Kingdom extends its sincere congratulations to the governments and peoples of Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan on signing the treaty and wishes them continued stability and prosperity.

 

United Arab Emirates

"The United Arab Emirates has welcomed the agreement reached between the Republic of Tajikistan, the Kyrgyz Republic, and the Republic of Uzbekistan to establish a tri-national border connection point, as well as the signing of the Khujand Declaration of Eternal Friendship between the three countries.

His Excellency Ahmed Bin Ali Al Sayegh, Minister of State, stated that the UAE expresses hope that this agreement will consolidate cooperation and development in the region of Central Asia, and enhance peace, prosperity, and stability at both regional and international levels.

Furthermore, H.E. Al Sayegh underscored the close historic ties between the UAE and the three countries, affirming the country’s commitment to supporting their efforts to foster peace and development. His Excellency also highlighted the importance of peaceful dialogue as the only way to resolve crises and disputes".

 

State of Qatar

"The State of Qatar welcomes the agreement between Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan to establish the point of contact for their trilateral international border and the signing of the Khujand Declaration on Eternal Friendship.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expresses Qatar's hope that this agreement will foster closer cooperation and integration among the three countries while promoting security and stability in the region.

Qatar reaffirms its full support for peaceful conflict resolution efforts, emphasizing the importance of dialogue in maintaining regional and global peace and security".

 

State of Kuwait

"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomes the signing of the Khujand Declaration by the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Republic of Tajikistan, and the Kyrgyz Republic on strengthening eternal friendship and defining the point of intersection of the three international borders. The signing ceremony took place on Monday, March 31, 2025, in Khujand, Tajikistan.

While the State of Kuwait appreciates this positive step, which reflects the spirit of cooperation and good neighborliness, it affirms that this achievement represents a model to be emulated in the commitment to dialogue and diplomatic solutions to resolve contentious issues.

On this occasion, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs extends its sincere congratulations to the governments and peoples of the friendly Republics of Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan, wishing them continued progress and prosperity".

 

Republic of Turkiye

“We welcome the agreement signed on 31 March 2025 among Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan on the determination of the border junction point of the three countries.
