Celebration of the 33rd Anniversary of Tajikistan's State Independence in London

On September 10, 2024, the Embassy of the Republic of Tajikistan to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland hosted an official reception to mark the 33rd anniversary of Tajikistan's State Independence.

The event was attended by senior officials from the UK Government, Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, Lords and Members of Parliament, dignitaries from various UK departments and agencies, diplomatic corps in London, representatives from the private sector, media, academia and cultural institutions as well as Tajik nationals residing in the UK.

In the congratulatory speech the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Tajikistan to the UK Her Excellency Mrs Rukhshona Emomali, emphasized the significance of State Independence and highlighted the country's progress under the leadership of the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan His Excellency Emomali Rahmon. She also noted Tajikistan's increasing role on the international stage and the promising future of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and the United Kingdom.

Following the official program, the Embassy organized a fashion show featuring the work of renowned Tajik designers Mr Khurshed Sattorov and Mr Umed Kuchkaliev. The guests were introduced to traditional Tajik clothing made of chakan, atlas and adras, along with the rich history of Tajik patterns. Additionally, the famous Tajik violinist Muhammadvali Orzuev delighted the audience with a performance of traditional Tajik music.
