Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Sultanate of Oman were established on November 15, 2007.
On October 29, 2018, Mr. Zubaydzoda Zubaydullo was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tajikistan to the Sultanate of Oman with residence in the State of Kuwait.
Since March 1, 2022, Ibrahim bin Ahmad Al-Muaini has been the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Sultanate of Oman to the Republic of Tajikistan with residence in Tehran.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Oman, Yusuf bin Alawi, as part of his participation in the 37th meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, visited Tajikistan on May 17-20, 2010 and held meetings with the President of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan.
On April 15, 2024, in Tashkent on the sidelines of the Second Ministerial Meeting of the "Central Asia – Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf" the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Mr. Sirojiddin Muhriddin met with the Foreign Minister of the Sultanate of Oman Mr. Badr bin Hamad al Busaidi. During the meeting, the both sides discussed the current state and prospects for the development of bilateral and multilateral relations, as well as strengthening cooperation within international organizations.
On March 28, 2023, the second round of political consultations was held between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Sultanate of Oman at the level of deputy ministers, during which a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation were discussed.
