Visit to the mausoleum of the great Tajik-Persian poet Abul-Qasim Firdawsi

Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Muhriddin visited the mausoleum of the great Tajik-Persian poet Abul-Qasim Firdawsi in the city of Tus as part of his visit to Mashhad to attend the 28th Meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Economic Cooperation Organization.

At a meeting with officials of the Firdawsi mausoleum, he emphasized that Shahnameh and Firdawsi belong to Tajiks to the same extent as to Iranians. In Tajikistan, Shahnameh is considered one of the most widely read books of Tajik and Persian classical literature.

Taking into account the importance of "Shahnameh" in the spiritual life of Tajiks, the Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, H.E. Emomali Rahmon decided to give the book "Shahnameh" to every Tajik family.

Firdawsi is considered one of the great ancestors of Tajiks and Iranians, and to keep his memory and his “Shahnameh” alive is to honor Tajik-Iranian friendship.
