Press Conference on the 5th Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia

On June 12, 2019, a press conference was held at the Embassy of the Republic of Tajikistan in Tehran on the 5th  Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA), which will be held on June 15, 2019 in Dushanbe. The meeting was attended by representatives of the News Media of the Islamic Republic of Iran such as "IRNA", "ISNA", "ILNA", "Aftab Karoon", "Mahan News", "IRIB", "Sobhe Mellat", "Iran News" , "Ava Diplomatic" and "Asia" participated.

At the beginning of the meeting the Ambassador of Tajikistan to the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mr. Nizomiddin Zohidi briefed the Resident country reporters on the date of the establishment of Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia, which pursues the goal of strengthening cooperation for peace, security and stability in Asia. Attracted the attention of Tajikistan's presidency in the Organization in 2018-2020. To this end, the goals and programs of the Tajikistan Presidency in the Organization, which are focused on strengthening CICA's capacity to implement confidence building measures in the five dimensions of its activities, were emphasized. At the news conference, it was mentioned that Tajikistan, as the current head of the CICA, will strive to strengthen the cooperation of its member states in securing peace and stability and sustainable development in the region. In this regard, the importance of holding the 5th Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia in Dushanbe was emphasized and its role in fostering broader co-operation among member states. It was stated that the Republic of Tajikistan, as host of the 5th Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia, is fully confident that this conference will be an important and conducive forum for addressing problems within the Organization's territory and developing solutions for them and in transforming Asia into  a place that security, stability and development are sustainable will play a role.

At the end of the press conference, the Ambassador answered the questions of the representatives of the News Media of the country of residence.
