Meeting of the Ambassador in Tehran

On July 24, 2019, the Ambassador of Tajikistan to Iran, Mr. Nizomiddin Zohidi, met with the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, Mr. Gholamreza Shafe'i.

The parties discussed the current state of economic and trade relations between the two countries, emphasizing the need to use the existing opportunities to develop mutually beneficial cooperation in the sectors of commerce, industry and agriculture. The Iranian side expressed its readiness to assist in the implementation of investment projects in various sectors of Tajikistan's economy and assessed the strengthening of the private-sector relations of the two countries in this important sector.

Holding specialized trade fairs in each other's countries was important to introduce industrial and agricultural gains, encourage investment, establish joint factories and increase the volume of trade exchanges between Tajikistan and Iran. The parties also reaffirmed their readiness for the next meeting of the Joint Commission on Trade, Economic, Technical and Cultural Cooperation of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Islamic Republic of Iran to be held in Tehran later this year.
