Meeting of the Minister of Industry and New Technologies of Tajikistan with the Minister of Industry, Mining and Trade of Iran

On June 5, 2026, in Bishkek, on the sidelines of the 4th Meeting of the Ministers of Industry of the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), a meeting was held between the Minister of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Tajikistan, Sherali Kabir, and the Minister of Industry, Mining and Trade of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Seyed Mohammad Atabak.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the draft Memorandum of Understanding on the establishment of a Joint Industrial Park in the Republic of Tajikistan.

It was noted that industrial cooperation between Tajikistan and Iran is entering a qualitatively new stage—from traditional trade to deeper industrial production and technological integration.

Within the framework of the 2025–2027 Cooperation Action Plan, the parties reviewed priority areas of cooperation, including the establishment of textile clusters based on Tajikistan’s cotton raw materials and Iranian technologies; joint projects in metallurgy and mineral processing; the production of agricultural machinery; pharmaceuticals and biotechnology; construction materials; the chemical industry; as well as coal processing.

The two sides also emphasized the development of logistics infrastructure and discussed the prospects for applying digital technologies and artificial intelligence in industrial management.
