Meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Tajikistan and Iran

On May 17, 2025, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, Sirojiddin Muhriddin met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran Seyed Abbas Araghchi in Tehran.

At the meeting, the sides discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Iran.

During the meeting it was emphasized that further cooperation in economic, trade, cultural, scientific and tourism spheres will be strengthened on the existing favorable foundation.

The sides also exchanged views on the latest developments in the region and the world.

The parties emphasized their willingness to cooperate within the framework of international and regional organizations.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan called on the Iranian side to actively participate in the programs of the High-Level International Conference on Glaciers’ Preservation to be held in Dushanbe on May 29-31 this year. Seyed Araghchi noted that Iran's delegation will be led by First Deputy President of the country Mohammadreza Arif in the conference.
