International Scientific Conference "700 Years with Hafez"

The Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Rudaki Association in Paris in cooperation with UNESCO would like to inform researchers about the upcoming International Scientific Conference dedicated to celebration of the anniversary of Hafiz Shirazi entitled “700 Years with Hafez”. Researchers and scholars are invited to submit articles, as well as participate in this conference, either in person or online.

The purpose of the conference: an in-depth study of the unique works of Hafez Shirazi and recognition of true value of the contribution of this outstanding man of words and literature to human civilization.

Topics of the conference:

1. Hafez Shirazi - poet, philosopher and thinker.
2. The necessity of recognizing Hafez's personal and literary dimensions.
3. Hafez and the impact of his masterpiece on the cultures of the world.
4. The image of the free-spirited man in Hafez's poetry.
5. Hafez and the values of philanthropy, peacemaking and tolerance.
6. Hafez's call to eliminate religious superstitions and prejudices.
7. The song of friendship in Hafez's poetry.
8. The relevance of Hafez's ideas for the modern world.
9. The distinctive features of Hafez's poems from the perspective of literary and philosophical critics.
10. The role of Hafez's poems in the development of music, in particular Shashmaqom.
11. Hafez's advice guiding man towards spiritual perfection.

The working languages of the conference: Persian, English, French. Article requirements:

• The total length of the article, including the list of references, is up to 6000 words.
• Information about the author: first and last name, academic rank, place of work, occupation, phone number and email address.
• Articles must be sent in MS DOC and PDF formats.
• Deadline for submitting the article and/or video statement: May 15th, 2025.
• For online participants, the duration of the statement is up to 5 minutes.
