Indicators of development of industrial sectors of the Republic of Tajikistan in 2021

 

Manufacturing of industrial goods. In 2021, the volume of industrial production reached 38 billion 826 million Somoni, which is by 22% or 8 billion Somoni more than in 2020.

The volume of industrial production in the processing industry has reached 22 billion 306 million Somoni, which is by 16.3 percent or 3 billion 126 million Somoni more than in 2020.

During the reporting period, the volume of production in the extractive industry amounted to 8 billion 401 million Somoni, which is 2 billion 763 million Somoni or 50% more than in 2020.

The share of the processing industry is 57.5%, electricity, gas, steam and air purification - 20.4%, mining - 21.6% and water supply, treatment, waste treatment and secondary processing - 0.5%.

Growth in manufacturing in the reporting period compared to the previous year was observed in the following sectors, including food production along with beverages and tobacco (104.7%), textile, clothing, leather, leather and footwear (140%), metallurgy and finished metal products (109.4 percent), chemicals (160 percent), rubber and plastics (123.9 percent) and pharmaceuticals (97.4 percent). These sectors accounted for 97.3% of the total output of the processing industry.

According to statistics, the volume of investments in fixed assets by type of economic activity in 2021 in industry will amount to only 5 billion 639.2 million Somoni. In particular, the industry of production and distribution of electricity is 4 billion 484.1 million Somoni, processing industry 988.8 million Somoni, mining industry 166.3 million Somoni.

Compared to 2020, the volume of investments in the mining sector has increased by 55.2 million Somoni and processing by 679.5 million Somoni, in total 734.7 million Somoni.

With a view to achieving the fourth national goal of rapid industrialization of the country and reducing the intensity of external factors in the country's economy, it should be noted that the country's industry development strategy for the period up to 2030 is being implemented. The country's rapid industrialization programs, development of non-ferrous and ferrous metallurgy, development of food industry, development of machine building, development of light industry and sericulture and cocoon processing have been developed and are being implemented until 2025.

In 2021, industrial development in all regions of the country was provided, including Sughd (131.3%), Khatlon (111.4%), GBAO (158.4%), DRS (119%) and Dushanbe (111.9%).

The share of Sughd region is 54%, Khatlon region is 26.3%, GBAO - 0.8%, Dushanbe city is 8.5% and DRS is 9.5% in the volume of industrial production.
