Meeting of the Board of the National Commission of the Republic of Tajikistan for UNESCO

On February 16, 2022 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs under the chairmanship of Sirojiddin Muhriddin the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, Chairman of the National Commission of the Republic of Tajikistan for UNESCO was held the meeting of the Board of the National Commission of the Republic of Tajikistan for UNESCO.

A report on the activities of the Commission for the  2021 as well as Action Plan  for 2022 were presented at the meeting. It was noted that one of the main tasks of the Commission in cooperation with the relevant agencies of the country is to include the country's tangible and intangible cultural and natural heritage to the UNESCO World Heritage List. This initiative is aimed at promoting, preserving and developing the rich culture of the Tajik people in the world and attracting tourists to the country, which is part of the state policy in the field of culture.

The Republic of Tajikistan attaches great importance to cooperation with UNESCO and fully supports the implementation of projects that make a valuable contribution to the development of education, science, protection of tangible and intangible cultural heritage of the country and its transmission to future generations.

Representatives of ministries and agencies of the country also made statements relating to the activities of the National Commission.

At the end of the meeting, the Action Plan of the National Commission of the Republic of Tajikistan for UNESCO for 2022 was approved.
