Meeting of the Permanent Representative of Tajikistan with UNICEF Regional Director

On February 8, 2024, the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Tajikistan to the United Nations Mr. Jonibek Hikmat met with UNICEF's new Regional Director for Europe and Central Asia, and the Special Coordinator for the Refuge and Migrant Response in Europe Ms. De Dominicis.

During the meeting, the parties discussed areas of cooperation between Tajikistan and UNICEF highlighting the social protection and legal reforms implemented by the Government of Tajikistan. The adopted amendments to the Law of the Republic of Tajikistan "On Protection of the Rights of the Child" were particularly commended. The parties also exchanged views on holding joint events on the sidelines of the 3rd International High-Level Conference on the International Decade of Action "Water for Sustainable Development", 2018-2028 (June 10-13, 2024, Dushanbe).
