High-Level Roundtable on the UN 2023 Water Conference

On September 23, 2022, the co-chairs of the UN 2023 Water Conference - Tajikistan and the Netherlands, within the framework UNGA High-Level Week organized a High-level round table dedicated to the UN 2023 Water Conference (March 22-24, 2023 in New York). This meeting was held to exchange the views on the preparations for the Conference and the follow-up to the Water Action Agenda.

This event was opened by the speech of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of the Netherlands Mark Rutte, as well as the Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations, Prime Ministers of Mozambique and Haiti, the Vice-President of Uganda, the Foreign Ministers of Finland, Bangladesh, the Minister of Economic Development of Egypt and the Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation of the Netherlands.

In his speech, Sirojiddin Muhriddin emphasized the importance of the UN 2023 Water Conference for the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, calling on the leaders of states to take concrete actions to implement the goals and objectives of the International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development”, 2018-2028.
