Virtual meeting regarding the Sixth Sustainable Development Goal.

On July 14, 2022, on the sidelines of the High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development, at the initiative of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Kingdom of the Netherlands, and in cooperation with the relevant UN agencies and partner countries, a virtual meeting on Sixth Sustainable Development Goal was held at the Permanent Mission of the country to the UN.

During the meeting, the parties stressed the need to develop a final document following the results of the United Nations Conference on the Midterm Comprehensive Review of the Implementation of the International Decade for Action «Water for Sustainable Development», 2018-2028 (New York, March 2023).

The participants of the event also discussed the interactive themes and content of the mentioned UN Conference in promoting the 6th Sustainable Development Goal at different levels, as well as developing the Water Decade Agenda as the final document of the conference in implementation of the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

It should be noted that the issues of determining the contribution and commitments of the UN Member States and concerned institutions in the practical solution of water and climate issues and ensuring the timely achievement of the Sixth Sustainable Development Goal and the UN 2030 Agenda will become the main tasks and goals of the Water Decade Agenda.
