Participation in the meeting of the OIC Group at the UN

On June 16, 2022, Mr. Jonibek Hikmat, the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Tajikistan to the UN attended and addressed the briefing of the UN Under-Secretary-General / Head of the UN Office of Counter-Terrorism to the Permanent Representatives of the Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

During the event, the Permanent Representative of the country exchanged views on the results and prospects of cooperation between Tajikistan and the UNOCT.

In his statement, he also briefed the delegates on the "Dushanbe Process" on combating terrorism and its financing, briefing on the presentation of the "Strategy of the Republic of Tajikistan on combating terrorism and extremism for 2021-2025" (22.04.2022) and the preparation process of a high-level International Conference on "International and Regional Border Security and Management Cooperation to Counter-Terrorism and Prevent the Movement of Terrorism", scheduled to take place on 18-19 October this year in Dushanbe.
