Presentation of the High-Level Dushanbe Water Conference in the UAE

On 14 May 2026, the Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan to the United Arab Emirates, Ashrafjon Gulov, during a briefing on the preparatory process for the United Nations Water Conference, to be co-chaired by the United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Senegal in Abu Dhabi on 8–10 December 2026, presented Tajikistan’s effective initiatives aimed at advancing the global water agenda.

Speaking during the dialogue aimed at exchanging experiences, the Ambassador drew the attention of those present to the global initiatives of the Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, in addressing issues related to water and climate, and emphasized the importance of holding the 4th High-Level International Conference on the International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development, 2018–2028” (Dushanbe, 25–28 May 2026) as an important instrument for strengthening partnership and cooperation in the run-up to the 2026 United Nations Water Conference.

The heads of diplomatic missions and international organizations in attendance emphasized the important role of the Republic of Tajikistan as a country advancing global initiatives and promoting water diplomacy on the international arena.
