On June 2, 2022, the Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan to the Russian Federation, Davlatshoh Gulmahmadzoda met with the newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Mali to the Russian Federation Haruna Samake.
The ambassadors discussed a wide range of issues related to further development of bilateral relations between Tajikistan and Mali, paying special attention to building up trade and economic ties, developing tourism, and strengthening cooperation in the cultural and humanitarian sphere.
The sides also discussed the upcoming Second International High-Level Conference on the International Decade for Action "Water for Sustainable Development", 2018-2028 which will be held on June 6-9, 2022 in Dushanbe and emphasized its importance.
An exchange of views took place on the global initiatives of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, in addressing issues related to climate change, including the rapid melting of glaciers.
The parties also expressed their views on international issues of mutual interest.
As a result of the meeting, the mutual intention to assist in the further development of comprehensive cooperation between Tajikistan and Mali was confirmed.
