On May 27, 2022, a briefing dedicated to the Second High-Level International Conference on the International Decade for Action "Water for Sustainable Development, 2018-2028" entitled “Catalyzing water action and partnership at the local, national, regional and global levels” (Dushanbe, June 6-9, 2022) was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the participation of heads of diplomatic missions, international organizations and international financial institutions based in Dushanbe, as well as media representatives.
At the briefing, the head of the Secretariat of the Conference, Sulton Rahimzoda, informed about the events planned within the framework of the Second Dushanbe Conference, as well as about its main tasks, the process of preparing for general panels, interactive and partner sessions, special forums of regional and key groups, international Exhibition "Water for sustainable development”, Dushanbe Water Festival, Global Water Marathon, exhibition “Virtual Reality” on the theme “Tajikistan’s experience in the field of water resources”, visits to tourist and historical sites of the country, other pre-conference meetings and related issues.
It was noted that at present, along with the Secretariat of the Second Dushanbe Conference, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has established an Task Force for organizational protocol and logistics issues.
More than 2,000 representatives of foreign states, international and regional organizations, international financial institutions, the private sector, civil society, institutions, local communities and other stakeholders have registered to participate in the Second Dushanbe Conference.
