Tajikistan is a country with more than 5500 years of history, with ancient culture and traditions, the birthplace of great dynasties and poets. From time immemorial, the vast territory of Central Asia, or as it was previously called Varazrud, which includes the region between the Amudaryo and Syrdaryo rivers, was inhabited by the ancestors of the Tajiks, who had a high culture and were the locomotive of many innovations in trade, the development of crafts, weaving, pottery, while introducing them not only in the Central Asia, but also in Europe and China.
The Tajik ethnic in different historical periods experienced the invasion of the Greeks, Turks, Arabs, Mongols, but the descendants of the Tajiks were able to preserve their identity, language, traditions and culture.
Today, modern Tajikistan is a rapidly developing country in Central Asia, which is steadily moving forward under the banner of sovereignty and independence.
Due to the efforts of the Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, the country, having recovered from the difficult 90s, is confidently moving forward towards achieving sustainable economic growth through the implementation of strategic national goals. Аnd exactly with the name of the Leader of the Nation Emomali Rahmon the diplomatic recognition of the new Tajikistan is connected.
It can be said with confidence that over this short historical period, Tajikistan has made significant progress in economic and social transformation, improving the quality of life of the population and creating favorable conditions for the further development of the country.
The formation of a balanced domestic and multi-vector foreign policy of the state has become an important strategy that contributed to the establishment of friendly relations with more than 180 countries of the world and ensured a firm political position of the country in the international arena.
Carrying out multi-vector diplomacy, which is based on the state interest, as the highest measure of foreign policy, Tajikistan actively interacts with all countries on the basis of the principle of equality and mutual respect.
As a result of this policy, Tajikistan, actively interacting with many countries of the world and international organizations, contributed to the solution of global problems and was able to gain high prestige in the international arena.
Having become a member of important international organizations such as the UN and its affiliated structures, OSCE, OIC, ECO, CIS, SCO, CSTO and others with which it actively develops cooperation, Tajikistan stands for a fair world system, for strengthening equal rights cooperation and partnership of all countries of the world, for ensuring world and regional security through a constructive dialogue and full-scale interaction, which allows us to multiply the possibilities in solving common problems, to promote the comprehensive political and socio-economic development of countries, and also to ensure effective counteraction to new challenges and threats.
In this context, the highest authority of Tajikistan put forward a number of global initiatives that were accepted and supported by the world community.
These are, in particular, assistance in solving the political and economic problems of Afghanistan, development of regional cooperation, initiatives for the rational use of water resources, cooperation in the field of energy, as well as ensuring regional security, including the fight against terrorism, extremism and drug trafficking.
The four initiatives of the Republic of Tajikistan in the field of water management supported by the UN, as well as the initiative of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon to declare 2025 the International Year for the Protection of Glaciers and to determine the date of the World Glacier Day, are relevant and timely in the context of increasing problems of fresh water shortage and negative impact of climate change on the state of the environment. Together, these initiatives aim to create a new strategy for humanity and ensure a decent life for the inhabitants of the planet.
In the given course, the strengthening of economic ties, the implementation of infrastructure projects, including the intensification of cultural dialogue with all partners, will undoubtedly have a positive impact on ensuring socio-economic stability and the progressive development of the countries of the region.
Taking into account the current realities and in order to ensure sustainable development, the Republic of Tajikistan remains committed to the principle of "open doors" in foreign policy and is ready for broad cooperation with international and regional organizations and partner.
It seems especially important in the era of globalization, when countries are becoming more interconnected and at the same time vulnerable to the growing threats and challenges of the modern world.
That is why, within the framework of its interaction in the international arena, Tajikistan always advocates the creation of effective cooperation mechanisms and the consolidation of the aspirations of all states in the formation of adequate measures to counter modern threats and challenges, as well as sustainable development in all areas of cooperation.
