Participation of the Permanent Representative of Tajikistan in the Annual Ministerial Meeting for Group 77 and China

On 30 November 2021, the 45th meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the Group of 77 and China took place in a virtual format. The Permanent Representative of Tajikistan to the UN Jonibek Hikmat represented delegation of Tajikistan at the meeting.

In his statement, J. Hikmat briefed the participants on the main priorities of Tajikistan in the Group, in particular the issues of equal access to vaccines, cooperation in implementation of the International Decade for Action "Water for Sustainable Development, 2018-2028" resolution, including successful holding of a UN 2023 Water Conference, implementation of the new initiatives of the Leader of Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan His Excellency Mr. Emomali Rahmon to declare 2025 as an International year of Glaciers Preservation and to establish an International Fund for Glacier Preservation.

Taking this opportunity, the Permanent Representative invited the representatives of the Group 77+China to take part in the Second International Conference of the International Decade for Action "Water for Sustainable Development, 2018-2028" to be held in Dushanbe in June 2022.
