Participation of the delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan at the Signing and Launch Ceremony of a new UNODC Regional Program

On 24 November 2021, in Tashkent, the Republic of Uzbekistan the delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan headed by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan H.E. Mr. Muzaffar Huseinzoda participated in the Signing and Launch Ceremony of the new UNODC Regional Program for Central Asian countries (2022-2025).

In his speech, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Muzaffar Huseinzoda, expressеd satisfaction with the level of cooperation of relevant authorities of the Republic of Tajikistan with the UNODC on countering security challenges and threats, including international terrorism and extremism, organized and cyber-crimes, illicit drug trafficking and trafficking in persons, and emphasized the role of the United Nations Organization and its specialized agencies in eliminating of named negative phenomenon, inter alia through the provision of technical assistance.

The Deputy Foreign Minister expressed hope that the new Regional Program of the UN Office on Drugs and Crime for Central Asian countries (2022-2025), taking into account the current realities, will be aimed at developing and implementing an effective and coordinated measures to prevent and counter the contemporary threats and challenges.
