Participation of the Permanent Representative of Tajikistan to UN in Security Council meeting on Afghanistan

On 17 November 2021, the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Tajikistan to UN Jonibek Hikmat participated and addressed the UN Security Council meeting on Afghanistan.

In addition to the current members of the UN Security Council, some neighboring countries were invited to attend the meeting. Secretary-General’s Special Representative for Afghanistan and Head of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan Deborah Lyons briefed the Council on the situation in Afghanistan.

In his statement, the Permanent Representative of Tajikistan voiced the position of the country regarding the situation in Afghanistan.
