The participation of Tajikistan at the meeting of the Istanbul process on Afghanistan

On May 25, 2015 in Islamabad held a meeting of Senior officials of the States-participants of the Istanbul process on Afghanistan "Heart of Asia". Tajikistan was represented by the Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Sherali Jononov.

During the meeting were discussed issues of further development of the Istanbul process, the situation in the field of security in Afghanistan and the region, and regional the priorities in the development of trade and economic relations, including the CASA-1000 project, the China-Pakistan economic corridor, the construction of new roads and railways, as well as TAPI.

An important place in the agenda of the upcoming fall meeting of the Ministerial the conference was the problem of the growth of extremism and terrorism in Afghanistan as a factor in the security of the entire region.
