Meeting with the Chairman of the Tajik-French Parliamentary Group of Friendship and Cooperation

On May 27, 2015 in the Senate the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tajikistan to France Homidjon Nazarov hold a meeting with the newly appointed Chairman of the Tajik-French Parliamentary Group of Friendship and Cooperation Senator Sylvie Goy-Chavent.

Ambassador congratulated Senator on her new appointment and informed Goa-Chavent about creation of the Tajik part of the Parliamentary group of friendship and cooperation. At the same time, H.Nazarov expressed his confidence that the establishment of inter-parliamentary group would give impetus to further development of bilateral relations.

During the meeting, the sides discussed ways of strengthening bilateral cooperation, including at the parliamentary level. As the Chairman of the parliamentary group of friendship and cooperation from the French side, Senator expressed her willingness to make all efforts in order to contribute in comprehensive development of relations between the two countries, especially in areas of education and agriculture. The importance of strengthening the legal framework between the two countries was also noted and, in this regard, it was proposed to elaborate draft agreements in areas of mutual interest.
