Meeting of the Ambassador of Tajikistan with the Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense

On October 22, 2014 the meeting of the Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan to the USA Mr. Farhod Salim with the Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Afghanistan, Pakistan and Central Asia Ms. Christine Abizaid took place.

During the meeting the Ambassador of Tajikistan expressed gratitude to the US Government and US Defense Department for continue support and assistant in strengthen of the border security, organization of seminars and trainings for Tajik officers. The Ambassador also expressed hope for continue cooperation with law enforcement authorities of Tajikistan

Ms. Christine Abizaid noted that cooperation with the Republic of Tajikistan is important for the US and expressed hope for further strengthening of this cooperation.

Within the meeting, the parties also exchanged views on regional security issues, fight against terrorism, extremism and important regional projects.
