The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan informs that, reportedly, today on July 10 at 11:30 am local time in the territories designated for cooperative farm "Vorukh" of Isfara Region of the Republic of Tajikistan, a group of citizens of Tajikistan were carrying on works on tubing. Kyrgyz border guards who were serving at the post "Tamdyk”, which is located in the inconsistent part of the border, approached the Tajik citizens and began to behave themselves provocatively, insulting the citizens in every possible way and illegally demanding to stop works and leave the area. Tajik border guards stationed nearby, coming up to ascertain the circumstances, tried to stop the actions of their Kyrgyz counterparts. In response, Kyrgyz border guards suddenly opened fire with automatic arms. As a result, 7 civilians and one border guard of the Republic of Tajikistan suffered gunshot wounds. One citizen of the Republic of Tajikistan died from the injuries.
It should be noted that the Tajik border guards did not fire a single shot.
