Participation of the Deputy Foreign Minister in the OSCE Security Days conference

On July 8, 2014 in Vienna the OSCE organized a Security days Conference “Enhancing Security through Water Diplomacy: The Role of the OSCE”. The delegation of Tajikistan was headed by Parviz Davlatzoda, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan.

Opening remarks were delivered by Lamberto Zanier, Secretary General of the OSCE, CiO Tomas Greminger and Prince El Hassan bin Talal of Jordan.

The Head of Tajikistan delegation made a statement at the first plenary session, which was dedicated to subject of “A security perspective on water” and gave his input to current issues related to the subject.

Issues such as water diplomacy, impact of water on political and socio-economical situations, environmental challenges, disaster risk reduction and water cooperation were among discussed issues.
