On June 19, 2014 the 41st Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation entitled "Exploring areas of Islamic cooperation" was held in Jeddah, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
During the session the Head of Tajikistan delegation, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Sirodjidin Aslov delivered a speech and highlighted the position of Tajikistan on main issues of Islamic world, such as the Palestine conflict, differences within one faith (mad’habs), supporting the initiative to establish a Centre for dialogue among Islamic schools of thoughts, supporting the organizations’ humanitarian, technical, cultural, social and information resolutions and to draw more attention to strengthening the economic cooperation.
In the framework of participation, several bilateral meetings of the Tajik delegation such as meeting with the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Yemen, Bangladesh, Mauritania, Secretary General of the Foreign Ministry of Sultanate of Oman and the representative of Azerbaijan were conducted. During the meetings the sides discussed the issues of development of bilateral cooperation, collaboration on in the framework of international organizations, including OIC.
On the second half of June 19th 2014 the Tajik Foreign Minister met with the Secretary General of OIC Iyad Ameen Madani and the President of Islamic Development Bank Ahmad Mohammed Ali where views on the issues of cooperation of Tajikistan with the OIC and IDB were exchanged.
