Consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan and Latvia

On April 4, 2014  the first political consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Latvia were held in Dushanbe.

Tajik side was represented by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nizomiddin Zohidov and the Latvian side was headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs Eduards Stiprais.

During the meeting the parties have discussed a wide range of issues, in particular bilateral relations between Tajikistan and Latvia, preparations for  the visit of the Latvian President to Tajikistan, regional cooperation, as well as, relations of Tajikistan with the European Union and situation in Afghanistan.

Moreover, realization of the EU Strategy for Central Asia for the period of 2014-2020 was also discussed during the consultations.
