Participation in the 2nd Meeting of the High Level Panel on Water

On 21 September 2016 at the UN Headquarters was held the second Meeting of the members of the High-level Panel on Water. The Minister of Foreign Affair of Tajikistan Sirodjidin Aslov has addressed the Panel on behalf of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan  Emomali Rahmon who is the member of the above panel.

Minister Aslov drew the participants’ attention to the issue of promotion of the new initiative by the Republic of Tajikistan on proclamation of the International Decade “Water for Sustainable Development”.

It was noted that the process of promotion of the draft resolution on the decade has begun. In early October, the draft resolution will be submitted to the Second Committee of the UN General Assembly for consideration.
