Project for promoting Border Management in Northern Afghanistan (BOMNAF)

The BOMNAF Project was launched in 13 December 2010. Project is sponsored by the European Union (EU) and is implemented by United Nations Developing Program (UNDP). The total budget of the Project is 10,709,505 million US dollars, mainly intended for the security of the northern border of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.

The Project aimed at criminal level reduction, increasing potential to counter drug trafficking, terrorism and promoting security along the Afghanistan border with Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

The main objectives of the BOMNAF Project are increasing potential for border management and strengthening transboundary cooperation in Northern Afghanistan provinces, promoting legal trades and traveling along the Afghanistan border with Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, providing conditions for strengthening mutual confidence, regional development, settling and preventing conflicts and promoting human security.
