On July 15, 2016, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Sirodjidin Aslov received a copy of credentials of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to the Republic of Tajikistan Somnath Ghosh.
During the meeting after the ceremony of presentation of credentials the parties discussed the current status and prospects of development of bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and India. They paid particular attention to the ways of practical implementation of agreements reached between the leaders of the two countries in July last year in Dushanbe. Aslov expressed hope that the newly appointed Ambassador of India would make a great contribution to the further development and strengthening of mutually beneficial cooperation between the two friendly countries.
Ambassador Somnath Ghosh noted that Tajikistan is a priority in the foreign policy of India and assured Minister Aslov that he would make every effort to deepen cooperation based on the principles of friendship and partnership between Tajikistan and India.
Foreign Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan wished the new Ambassador of India success in his diplomatic mission in Tajikistan.
