Bilateral relations of Tajikistan with Slovakia

Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Slovak Republic were established on February 4th, 1993.

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tajikistan to the Slovak Republic (with residence in Vienna) is Idibek Kalandar. The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Slovak Republic to Tajikistan (with residence in Tashkent) is Viktor Borecky.

The Republic of Tajikistan supports further development and strengthening relations with the Slovak Republic in political, trade and economy, cultural and other fields.

The Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Slovakia hold annual bilateral consultations, which serve as an important mechanism for strengthening and further development of relations.

Every year based on the governmental program, Slovakia provides Tajik citizens with scholarships in various fields of economy and social life.

The inter-parliamentary ties between the two states are undergoing development.

Legal framework of bilateral relations consists of intergovernmental and inter-ministerial documents.

On February 28, 2023, for the purpose of establishing direct contacts between business circles of the two countries and expanding trade and economic cooperation the first Tajik-Slovak Business Forum took place in Bratislava.
