Meeting of the UNESCO clubs of Tajikistan

On July 27, 2015 the National Commission of the Republic of Tajikistan for UNESCO, held a meeting of the UNESCO clubs of Tajikistan. During the meeting the current issues related to the activities and plan of future events of the UNESCO Clubs were considered and discussed. Moreover during the meeting 5 new members were adopted to the UNESCO Clubs of Tajikistan.

It should be noted that during the meeting members of the UNESCO clubs jointly agreed to held a number of events dedicated to the UNESCO's 70th anniversary and to continue the further expansion of the movement of the UNESCO Clubs. After the meeting participants were awarded certificates.

It is worth mention that the UNESCO Clubs movement has arisen simultaneously with the creation of UNESCO, and the first UNESCO Club was founded on  November 19, 1947 in the city of Sendai, Japan. The primary purpose of the Clubs is to spread UNESCO's ideals and values in the over the world, to promote international understanding, cooperation and global peace. In the Republic of Tajikistan the first UNESCO Clubs movement was set up in 2011, which were composed of four members.
