In 2020, to prevent the spread of SARS-COV-2, the Republic of Tajikistan introduced restrictive measures, in particular, international flights, entry and exit were suspended. Given the improvement of the epidemiological situation in the country, Tajikistan is gradually lifting the existing restrictions.

As of today, travel to Tajikistan is only possible by airplane. Based on the decision of the Republican headquarters to prevent the spread of coronavirus, the flights between the Republic of Tajikistan and a number of countries, including the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Russia, and Uzbekistan were resumed. Also, charter flights to India, Belarus and other countries are periodically carried out. Land state borders with neighboring countries remain closed. Foreign citizens and stateless persons can also use transit routes. A valid visa and a negative COVID-19 PCR test issued within 72 hours of arrival are required to travel to Tajikistan.

Foreign citizens who received the Covid-19 vaccine can cross the border of Tajikistan upon presentation of a vaccination certificate. The second dose of COVID-19 vaccination should be received at least 30 days before arrival.

Taking into account the above situation, the consideration of applications for issuing a visa to the Republic of Tajikistan takes relatively longer. We recommend you to apply for a visa of the Republic of Tajikistan on time indicating the reasons for your trip, given the longer processing period through the website (www.visa.gov.tj).
