On 23rd of March 2019 in Berlin was held the joint event devoted to celebration of Nawruz Holiday. The Event was held under the leadership of Representative of the Federal Government on cultural and public relations and with the participation of the Embassy of Tajikistan in Germany and other embassies of Nawruz countries.
As the Ambassador of Tajikistan to Germany Sohibnazar Gayratsho noted, Nawruz as a Spring Holiday has been celebrated for 3000 years by more than 300 million people of the world, including Tajikistan. On September 30, 2009 Nawruz was inscribed in the UNESCO Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, and later in 2010, by the Resolution of the General Assemble of UN it has been recognized as an international holiday.
The Embassy of Tajikistan through organization of cultural program and information stand presented to participants of the Event appropriate information regarding the policy of the President and the Government of Tajikistan aimed at improving wellbeing of the population by the case of announcing the years 2019-2021 as the Years of rural development, tourism and folk crafts. Moreover “Nawruznoma” which contains charachteristics of Nawruz celebration in Tajikistan has been brought to the attention of participants.
At the event participated Tajiks living in Germany and Europe, representatives of the Community of Tajikistan and Germany Friendship, scientists, artists and compatriots who live in Germany along with their families.
Director of the Humboldt Forum and State Museum of Berlin Lars Kokh, when delivering his speech has noted the significance of holding joint events for the expansion of cultural opportunities of Berlin and named the event as unifier of nations.
It is encouraging to note that on the celebration of Nawruz this year which brought together more than 1000 participants, nine countries have participated and presented their cultural background to the attention of participants.
