From 28 to 30 May 2026, the international conference “Chemnitz 2026: New Horizons in Future Technologies” was held in Chemnitz, Federal Republic of Germany. The event was jointly organized by the Industrial Association of Saxony 1828 the German Global Trade Forum Berlin, and Chemnitz University of Technology, bringing together representatives of government institutions, business and scientific circles, and the diplomatic corps.
The conference was officially opened on 28 May. In his opening remarks, Dirk Panter, Saxon State Minister for Economic Affairs, Labour, Energy and Climate Protection, welcomed the participants.
On 29 May, Imomudin Sattorov, Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan to Germany, participated and delivered remarks at the diplomatic forum “Future Technologies Worldwide”. In his speech, he presented Tajikistan’s opportunities in the field of sustainable development, highlighted the importance of reliable energy supply for industrial development, and outlined the country’s priorities in the areas of green energy and emerging technologies. Ambassador also emphasized the importance of strengthening international cooperation, scientific and technological exchange, and mutually beneficial partnerships.
As part of the conference programme, participants were introduced to a number of research projects and advanced scientific initiatives at Chemnitz University of Technology, including activities related to green hydrogen, fuel cell technologies, nanomembranes and other innovative solutions.
During the conference, Ambassador Sattorov also exchanged views with Prof. Dr. Thomas von Unwerth, Vice-Rector for Transfer and Continuing Education at Chemnitz University of Technology, on prospects for cooperation in the fields of advanced technologies and green hydrogen.
On 29 May, an official reception was held at Chemnitz City Hall, during which the Ambassador exchanged views with the Mayor of Chemnitz, Sven Schulze. Ambassadors and diplomatic representatives participating in the event also signed the Golden Book of the City of Chemnitz.
