Participation in the First Foreign Ministers’ Meeting of the Central Asian States and Germany in the “C5+1” Format

On 11 February 2026, the first Foreign Ministers’ Meeting of the Central Asian states and Germany in the “C5+1” format was held in Berlin, with the participation of a delegation led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, Sirojiddin Muhriddin.

The Foreign Ministers exchanged views on key issues of the international and regional agenda and also addressed the development of cooperation in the fields of economy, investment, humanitarian cooperation, migration, and security within the framework of the “C5+1” format.

In his address, Sirojiddin Muhriddin emphasized that Tajikistan and Germany continue to expand their partnership in the areas of economy, investment, energy, industry, education, science, and culture, in particular with regard to people-to-people contacts. It was underscored that the meeting reflects the shared commitment of the Central Asian states and Germany to the sustainable development of the region.

The importance of efforts to mitigate the consequences of climate change, advance the water and climate agenda, strengthen intercultural dialogue, counter contemporary threats, as well as Tajikistan’s significant contribution to ensuring peace and stability in the region, were highlighted.

In this context, the Foreign Minister pointed to the need for international cooperation on the issues and invited the participants to attend the 4th High-Level International Conference on the International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development”, 2018–2028, to be held from 25 to 28 May 2026 in Dushanbe.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the ministers adopted a Joint Declaration.
