International Navruz Celebration in Hamburg

On April 3, 2025, the Embassy of the Republic of Tajikistan in Germany, in cooperation with the Honorary Consulate of Tajikistan in the federal states of Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein, organized another Navruz celebration at the Hotel "Atlantik" in Hamburg. The event was attended by representatives of the German diplomatic corps and heads of international cultural and business organizations.

Opening the event, the Honorary Consul of Tajikistan for Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein, Kourosh Pourkian, emphasized that the Navruz celebration in the renowned port city is not only a cherished tradition but also an opportunity to further strengthen Hamburg’s role as a bridge between cultures.

The Tajik Ambassador to Germany, Imomudin Sattorov, welcomed the guests in his opening remarks. He quoted Ferdowsi’s Shahnameh: “On Jamshid they showered jewels with acclaim, And called this day the New Day in his name.” The ambassador underscored Navruz’s significance as a symbol of cultural unity and universal heritage.

The artistic segment of the program began with a ballet performance by artists from the S. Aini State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre, including Saidzoda Farangis and Azimzoda Muhammadi. The young Tajik singer Umedjon Burkhon captivated the audience with traditional Tajik songs.

The Embassy's cultural exhibition featured traditional Navruz items, folk art, musical instruments and informative books about Tajikistan, offering guests a glimpse of the country's artistic and cultural treasures.
